Advanced Diamond Energy Careers

Current Offerings

  • Junior / Senior Research Scientists, Renewable Energy R&D

Advanced Diamond Solutions, Inc. is an entrepreneurial technology startup, founded in 2003, focused on the development of innovative diamond and diamond-like materials for the energy, military, medical, abrasives, cosmetics and semiconductor markets. ADS is a fast growing company, focused on building a strong IP portfolio of manufacturing technologies, with presences in Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA as well as Taipei, Taiwan. ADS has developed one of the most promising thin film technologies for the future of renewable energy and recently received major funding to expand its R&D capabilities to create high efficiency amorphous diamond nanostructure-based solar cells. Our new energy lab is seeking motivated engineers, scientists and managers to prototype, characterize and productize a range of high efficiency amorphous diamond offerings for the energy market.

ADS is seeking highly energetic people with an engineering background to work on a range of research projects related to developing hybrid silicon based and flexible polymer solar cells. Nanotechnology, physics, electronics, optics and mechanical engineering backgrounds welcome. Knowledge of physical vapor deposition, metal sputtering, cleanroom techniques, precise thermal measurement equipment, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray analysis, monochrometers, electron and other forms of microscopy are a plus. A Ph.D. or MS in a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required. Prior experience in an academic or corporate research environment is expected. It is important to be able to manage a research budget effectively, learn the use of equipment, be able to document procedures thoroughly, work collaboratively in a team, and to work in a self-guided fashion toward the common goal of achieving prototype milestones. This position is expected to produce regular internal reports, but will also be offered the opportunity to publish research and attend professional diamond and energy related conferences when appropriate. This position reports directly to the company Research Director.

Salary Range: 60K-100K, depending on experience; stock options and profit sharing options available, health, 401K, vacation, tuition reimbursement and other benefits.
